Carry your own shade for a simple swim across the water from Galaxidi's old town
These are small local swimming spots rather than a single managed beach. Their appeal is the setting: pines behind you, the old town across the water and no need to drive away from Galaxidi. Choose an obvious established entry rather than crossing vegetation or private ground, and inspect the exit before getting into the water.
The shore mixes pebbles, rock and compact strips of coarse material. There is little dependable organisation, so bring water, shade and suitable footwear and take all rubbish away. Conditions are usually calmer inside the gulf but can change with wind and boat wash. Families should select the gentlest entry and supervise closely because depth and underwater rock vary from cove to cove.
