A community-run base that must be booked by telephone
The municipal guesthouse is part of Antikythera's very small accommodation supply. Its value is practical: a base on the island from which Potamos, Xiropotamos and the walking routes become possible without pretending that Antikythera has conventional hotel infrastructure. Booking also puts travellers in direct contact with the community, an important advantage when ferries, meals and transport all require current local knowledge.
There is no dependable online booking engine, and room configuration, facilities, prices and availability must be confirmed by telephone. Ask exactly what is supplied, whether cooking access exists, how far the room is from Potamos and what happens if weather delays the ferry. Bring personal toiletries, medication, cash and food for disruption. Do not confuse this property with the Bird Observatory's separate volunteer accommodation, which is reserved for its research programme.
