The wood oven earns the mountain drive
Paraga stands on the edge of Apollona, with a mountain-facing terrace, a wood oven and a shop selling local honey, olives and biscuits. Yiannis Efthymiou cooks Rhodian bread, long-roasted lamb, pulses and fruit-based salads from nearby farms, far from the coastal resort formula.
The day's oven dishes matter more than a fixed order, so call before making the drive and ask what will remain at your arrival time. Opening currently falls on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 14:00; reserve, bring a driver and do not assume rural roads will feel easy after dark.
