Afandou's scale is its advantage. Visitors can choose a serviced section near tavernas or continue along the coast for more breathing room, with the mountains forming a distant backdrop to the straight blue horizon.
Pebble makes the water clear but uncomfortable without shoes, and depth increases briskly in places. Facilities are not continuous along the beach, so choose your parking point carefully and bring water if walking away from the organised sectors. Wind can make the return walk feel much longer.
