A short village route through Prespa's built landscape
Agios Germanos rewards an unhurried circuit rather than a single photograph. The village's older church preserves medieval fabric and wall painting, while the restored watermill beside the stream explains how local grain and water shaped daily life. Stone houses, lanes and the riparian corridor connect the two, making this the most coherent cultural walk in the Prespa villages.
Church and watermill access can depend on local opening arrangements, so start at the information centre or ask your guesthouse. Dress respectfully and avoid flash where photography is permitted. Cobbles, bridges and streamside surfaces may be slippery in rain, snow or leaf fall, and not every section is step-free. Keep to the path beside the stream because the vegetation is also an important wildlife corridor.
