A rare cocoon-house interior that needs advance access planning
Brikas Mansion is valuable less for a dense object collection than for the building itself. Restored by the municipality, the tall house shows how a prosperous family could live below spaces devoted to cocoon raising and storage. Windows, ventilation and vertical organisation become much easier to understand here than from a street photograph. It is a strong bridge between the PIOP interpretation and an independent architecture walk.
Access has not always followed a continuous museum timetable. Contact the Municipality of Soufli before visiting and ask whether the interior, historical display and any guided explanation are available on your date. Do not enter closed areas or adjacent private property. Older upper floors can involve stairs and restricted circulation, so ask about accessibility in the same call. If closed, view the exterior respectfully and spend the saved time in the two reliably staffed silk museums.
