Step from the lakeside road into a living cave with seven underground lakes
The shift from the bright lakeshore to the cave's humid interior is immediate. A controlled route passes part of a system with ten halls, five passages and seven underground lakes, while interpretation explains continuing mineral formation and the cave-bear remains found inside. The visit is short enough to combine with Mavriotissa, but it deserves more attention than a weather backup.
The interior stays around 16–18°C with very high humidity, so carry a light layer even in summer and wear shoes with grip. The cave currently closes on Monday and uses seasonal hours; arrive well before final admission. Tickets are timed by the site's operating capacity. Follow the marked path, do not touch formations and ask in advance about the exact accessibility of the underground route.
