Panagia Grafiotissa

Panagia Grafiotissa is a small white coastal chapel in northern Pserimos, reached by a demanding exposed walk from the village.

Our take

Let the isolated chapel mark the destination without treating a living place of worship as a photo prop

The chapel's scale and isolation explain its appeal better than elaborate architecture could. It stands above a bare coast, linking island faith with the practical geography of seafarers and shepherds. The walk also reveals how little of Pserimos is represented by its busy harbour.

Visit quietly, dress respectfully and never enter if the building is locked. Carry water, use proper footwear and avoid the hottest hours. The surrounding ground is working and ecologically sensitive countryside; close gates, keep away from animals and take every item of waste back to the village.
