Spartochori makes most sense on foot. Begin near the village centre and follow the lanes without chasing a single monument, noticing the relationship between houses, small churches and the steep descent to Spilia. Continue to the Stefani outlook for a broad western view towards Lefkada. Sunset draws the most visitors, but late morning gives clearer detail and avoids walking unfamiliar lanes after dark.
This is a residential village, not a viewpoint platform. Keep voices low, leave doorways and scooter routes open, and ask before photographing people or private courtyards. Paving and steps can be polished, so secure shoes matter. The climb from Spilia with luggage is different from an evening stroll; arrange accommodation transfer rather than treating the path as a porter route. Carry a torch because lighting thins away from the centre.
