Use the north port's sandy bay for an easy swim that fits around ferries and village evenings
Aegiali is Amorgos's easiest all-purpose beach. The sand curves beside Ormos Aegialis, close enough to combine a morning swim with breakfast, a bus connection or an evening in the port. Tamarisks provide patches of natural shade and the bay's gradual entry is friendlier than many of the island's rocky coves, although conditions still depend on wind.
Facilities belong to separate seasonal businesses rather than one controlled beach operation. Some stretches provide loungers or service while others remain open for your own towel; ask before occupying equipment. Ferry and small-boat movements occur farther out, so stay within the normal swimming area. The beach can feel busy around arrivals, and strong northerlies add chop. Walk from the village and avoid using scarce waterfront space merely to park closer.
