Swim in front of Parga's old town when convenience matters more than escaping the crowd
Kryoneri is the practical swim for a car-free day. You can leave a central hotel with only a towel, enter the water opposite Panagia islet and be back in the old lanes for lunch. The compact setting is visually distinctive, but its convenience means less space and more activity than Valtos or outlying beaches.
The shore mixes coarse sand and small pebbles, and the entry can become busy with swimmers and rental craft. Use the marked swimming area, watch for boat movements farther out and supervise children closely because depth changes. Loungers occupy seasonal sections and policies vary by operator; ask the price or minimum order before settling. Arrive early in July and August, or use the beach for a morning dip rather than expecting a quiet full day.
