Livadi is a broad north-coast beach with fine sand, summer services and a stream-fed wetland behind it, close enough to Armenistis for an easy beach day.
Our take
Soft sand and a practical family beach near Armenistis
Livadi lies immediately east of Armenistis, where fine golden sand runs into a broad, shallow-looking bay. A small stream forms a green wetland behind the shore, giving the beach a softer setting than Ikaria's rockier coves. Summer sunbeds, a snack bar and nearby rooms make this one of the island's more convenient choices for families.
Convenience does not make the north coast predictable. Wind and swell can build quickly, and sandbars may change the depth and current from one day to the next. Use any marked swimming sector, watch children closely and ask locally about conditions. Parking is above the beach; expect a short walk and arrive early in August.
