A tasting menu rooted in an Athenian garden
Soil occupies a neoclassical house in Pangrati, giving its tasting menu a more intimate rhythm than the city’s large formal dining rooms. Chef Tasos Mantis builds the meal around herbs, vegetables and flowers from his family garden, using them as structural ingredients rather than decorative garnish. The result is recognisably Greek without depending on a parade of reconstructed classics.
Michelin currently lists Soil with one star and describes a single tasting menu. Choose it over Delta when a quieter room, a stronger garden narrative and a less architectural evening feel right; do not try to fit both into consecutive nights. Request the courtyard when the season is comfortable, provide dietary information before the reservation is confirmed and allow the restaurant to set the pace. Current menus and opening days should be checked directly, especially around summer closures.
