See the small seal cave only in settled water and without turning a wildlife refuge into a swimming challenge
Fokotrypa extends into the rock near the north end of Kastos and is often described for the little sandy shore inside. Its name and history point to seals, which should change visitor behaviour: an animal using the cave always has priority, and observation from a respectful distance is more important than entering for a photograph.
Never swim or paddle inside in swell, poor light or uncertain weather, and do not approach alone. Ask locally whether land access is passable or whether a licensed skipper can view it safely from outside. Engines should be cut where appropriate, voices kept low and drones avoided. Rockfall, slippery stone and reflected waves can make a small cavity more hazardous than its scale suggests.
