Potamos Harbour Beach

Potamos has a small informal shore beside Antikythera's harbour, useful for a quick swim near the island's few services when ferry and boat movements allow.

Our take

A convenient village swim with working-port limits

The little shore at Potamos is the simplest place to reach without planning transport or a long walk. It lies close to the settlement, community office and basic places to eat, making it useful on an arrival day or before an evening in the village. The harbour, ferry and crescent of dark hillside give the setting more character than its modest size suggests.

This remains a working port, not a managed resort beach. Never enter the water while a ferry is approaching, turning or departing, and keep well clear of moorings and small craft. The north-facing harbour is vulnerable to wind, and water quality or debris can change after rough weather. Ask locally where swimming is appropriate that day; there is no reason to choose this shore when port activity makes it unsafe.
