Begin with the household cycle that built Soufli's silk economy
This should be the first museum on a Soufli itinerary. The exhibition follows pre-industrial sericulture from mulberry leaves and silkworm eggs through cocoon sorting, reeling, dyeing and weaving. Because it occupies the 1883 Kourtidis Mansion and a separate cocoon house, the building itself demonstrates how work and domestic life overlapped. Archival material then connects that process to the town's economic rise and later contraction.
Allow at least ninety minutes if you want more than a quick sequence of displays. The museum closes on Tuesdays and follows different summer and winter hours, with additional holiday closures, so check the official page on the day. It has an elevator, accessible toilet, wheelchair loan and guide-dog access, but no dedicated visitor car park. Amateur photography is permitted under current rules; professional use requires advance permission.
