Octopus beside the boat garages
Medusa plants its shaded terrace above the water in Mandrakia, a fishing settlement lined with painted boat garages. Swimmers and day drivers crowd the tables for vinegar-cured octopus, squid frittata, swordfish and cheese pies while spray reaches the lowest wall.
No reservation book exists, and the line swells after 18:00. Go near 17:00, choose the vinegar octopus if you dislike the firmer chew of sun-dried tentacles and expect brisk service; staff may bring dishes as the kitchen finishes them rather than by course.
What visitors say
Current Tripadvisor reports praise the seafood and setting, especially vinegar octopus and squid frittata, while recurring complaints concern long waits, hurried service and tough grilled octopus.
